SMC / PMI Rope Grip - NFPA
This rope grab is a solid, compact performer that can be used as a progress capture device or to grip a kernmantle rope whenever reliability and safety are priorities. The compact curved body is easy to grip, and the secure, user friendly release mechanism makes putting this rope grab onto any rope - loaded or unloaded - a breeze. A specially designed cam protects your rope in the event of unexpected loading, but this unit is not designed as a belay or fall protection device.
As the newest member of the SMC family this rope grab designed to work with virtually any rope you have in your gear bag. Certified to Meet NFPA ''L'' - Light Use 5kN (10-12.5 rope diameter). Every component of this rope grab is meticulously hand-finished, contributing to the smooth action that is the hallmark of all SMC gear. Each one is 100% hand-inspected for functional characteristics before leaving our factory. All SMC NFPA products are third party tested (by Underwriters Laboratories - UL) as required by NFPA 1983 (2006 edition) standards. The SMC Grip has the required certification information stamped on the frame and the user information is enclosed with each item as required by NFPA.
