As souped up and turbocharged as a day pack can get, the Crag Alpine has many of the features for load adjustment and trackability found only on larger packs. Made for activities where balance is very critical. It has an EVA foam frame that providing superior torsional control which can be removed and unfolded to create a 4' long bivvy pad. The pack itself is made from ballistic nylon and 500d Cordura. Top loaded through a #10 coil zipper opening that is canted away from the head so the pack doesn't rub on helmets. The Crag Alpine has a prestressed top lid pocket. It has an internal zippered bellows pocket for things like headlamps and gloves, and also includes a loop to clip car keys to. The pack has a funnel configuration (narrower at the bottom) that offers superior load control and resists hanging up on steep descents. It utilizes a generous shovel nest, wand pockets and twin quick release ice tool loops. The hip suspension is conically cut and rubberized with gear loops and a double adjust waist buckle. The "S" curve shoulder straps are height and width adjustable. They also sport an elasticized sternum strap and adjustable gear racking loop.
