Rapid Intervention Teams (RIT, RIC, or FAST Teams) face the most demanding and extreme conditions during fireground search, rescue and escape operations. Overcoming extreme heat, obstacles and poor visibilty are just a few of the many problems encountered when seaching for downed firefighters or civilians. Firefighter safety and survival have become an important focus over the last few years and bailout kits, searchlines and multi-purpose tubular webbing are fast becoming standard equipment for entry personnel.

Sterling's personal escape ropes are manufactured to yield a perfect balance of strength, abrasion resistance, and handling. Their precision twisting and braiding process on the sheath and core gives the rope a tough sheath and the needed elongation to help absorb impact force in a "bailout" situation.
